    Great interview.

In addition to the outsider test for faith, there are two other challenges I would like to see more often:

    1. Don’t let someone simply identify themselves as a “christian” without saying what they actually do or do not believe. Thomas Jefferson was a follower of the Teachings of Jesus but considered himself a Deist.

    2. Don’t let someone make any use of the bible without articulating how you are to decide which parts
    a. are to be taken literally
    b. are to be taken metaphorically, or
    c. can be safely disregarded by the modern reader.
